Polo d’Innovazione di Genomica Genetica e Biologia (POLO GGB) has provided top-level services to Universities, Industries and Diagnostic laboratories in genomic, genetic and bioinformatics fields since 2011. Polo GGB has recently expanded its spectrum of activities by creating three different core facilities: the Genomics and Bioinformatics laboratory, located at the Toscana Life Sciences Incubator in Siena (Tuscany); the Genetics & Ecology laboratory and the Immunology laboratory in Terni (Umbria). A continuous investment in Research and Development, an extremely high flexibility and a policy focused on improvement and customer satisfaction, enable Polo GGB to provide personalized services supported by state-of-the-art infrastructures and highly qualified staff. From 2018, Polo GGB operates under the UNI EN ISO 9001 certification for “Design and provision of nucleic acid sequencing services and bioinformatics in the genomic, genetic and biological area”. POLO GGB is also involved in important European and International research projects funded by the European Community, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in collaboration with international research centers (Pasteur Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital, Imperial College London).
