Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) is an international professional organization representing the interests of POM professionals from around the world.
POM society and POM journal were founded by Prof. Kalyan Singhal, Merrick School of Business, University of Baltimore. Prof. Singhal serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal. Prof. Subodha Kumar, Fox School of Business, Temple University is the Deputy Editor of the Journal. Professor Jaya Singhal, Merrick School of Business, University of Baltimore is the Executive Editor. Professor Sushil Gupta, College of Business Administration, Florida International University is the Executive Director of POMS.
The purposes of the Society are:
1. to extend and integrate knowledge that contributes to the improved understanding and practice of production and operations management (POM);
2. to disseminate information on POM to managers, scientists, educators, students, public and private organizations, national and local governments, and the general public; and
3. to promote the improvement of POM and its teaching in public and private manufacturing and service organizations throughout the world.
