At Popidot we strongly believe that saving the planet is within reach of every person. And that it doesn't take much individually to make a difference. Because when many people do a small thing to help, collectively it has a huge impact.
Our fight is primarily against micro-plastics, which is a form of pollution created predominantly from synthetic clothing. Every time we wash our polyester or nylon clothing, a huge number of microplastic particles shed from the material and ends up in our oceans and drinking water. Microplastic is also in the air that we breath.
Additionally, we are concerned with the high volume of waste produced when mass producing clothes. This leads to an extraordinary amount of plastic (polyester and nylon) materials in rubbish tips and landfills
On top of this, we are faced with a huge problem of unethical practices in the production of clothing.
The industry is massive and is largely propped up by unethical working standards (child labor, workers exploitation, etc), and this has just got to stop.
This is why popidot is a sustainable and eco-friendly safe spot. We are a marketplace for brands who sell clothing that is made ethically, and strive to work with labels that have the same values as us.
Being kinder to the planet was never easier than it is now, it takes a minute change in mind-set to make a difference. And when lots of people make very small changes, it has a very big impact.
