Positive Impact

New products and services are the lifeblood of every independent business and since 2008 Positive Impact has introduced new products and services on behalf of some of the biggest names in the optical industry to independent practices. Founded by two optical stalwarts, Nick Atkins and Maxine Green, Positive Impact subsequently started distributing its own products and is now a multi award-winning optical supplier. This business redevelopment started with GLASKLAR in 2013, followed in 2015, by the first foray into the dry eye arena with a patented punctal plug. Since then, the company has continued to expand its dry eye range, by carefully selecting innovative new products to create the Dry Eye Zone - a ‘best-in-class’ range of diagnostic and treatment solutions. In 2017 SynergEyes, looking to sell directly in the UK, signed an agreement for Positive Impact to provide sales, marketing and back-office support for its unique range of hybrid contact lenses. With an Optician Award for Contact Lens Product of the Year for Duette Multifocal in 2019, this business relationship continues to this day. SynergEyes marked the beginning of the company’s journey into the contact lens market, an area where the two founders have a proven track record of success. 2019 saw the introduction of NaturalVue 1-Day Multifocal from Visioneering Technologies Inc. (VTI). This daily disposable contact lens for presbyopia and myopia management - two categories of significant growth opportunity - brought the company into the mainstream contact lens business. 2022 will also see the introduction of another more specialist product into its portfolio. From the original business concept to bring the flexibility of contract sales to the ophthalmic industry, Positive Impact is now a fully-fledged distributor in its own right. Recognition, and an indication of how far the business has come in 13-years, was provided by winning a second prestigious Optician Award for Optical supplier of the Year in 2021
