Powell Laboratories (P) Limited, formerly known as Powell Homoeo Research Laboratory, is a Powell® Group Enterprise, engaged in manufacturing and marketing of Homoeopathic Medicines, was established by Late Prof. Dr. Sailendra Nath Roy, who was doyen of the Indian Homoeopathy, a Homoeopath of international repute, a person with indomitable zeal to serve mankind, an entrepreneur by passion, a researcher by instinct and a visionary leader by virtue. Late Dr. Roy struggled hard to overcome economic hardships in his early life due to the devastations caused by the partition of the country. Despite all the hurdles, he graduated from the University of Calcutta and joined Homoeopathy at Calcutta Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata. Later on he served as a Professor of Homoeopathy, at a college under the University of Calcutta. During this tenure, with his earnest research endeavours he came up with some therapeutic domino effects, which he desired to utilize for the service to humanity. Thus he embarked on his journey of entrepreneurship. In the year 1975, Late Dr. Roy established a proprietorship firm in the name and style of Powell Homoeo Research Laboratory. With endeavours of Late Dr. Roy, the organization emerged as an icon of quality and is now transformed into a body corporate – Powell Laboratories (P) Ltd, and is a member of Powell®Group of Enterprises. Presently, the Company is run by the Board of Directors, headed by Co-founder Smt. Rita Roy. Smt. Roy is carrying forward the legacy of her husband Late Dr. Roy as the Chairperson of the Powell® Group of Enterprises. Late Dr. Roy’s able son Dr. Sudipta Narayan Roy is the Managing Director and CEO of the Company and is committed to the mission and values of the organisation which already manifests in his various achievements worldwide.
