The Power Systems Group is an agile, innovative and experienced team and is led by Prof. Dirk Westermann.
The group deals with the design, analysis and operation of electrical power systems. Hot topics are the future design of energy transmission and distribution with a high proportion of renewable energies, system integration of new basic technologies, optimal operational management with optimal asset utilization as well as digitalization and grid automation from the transport grid level to the system on the end consumer side, direct current technology (HVDC, MVDC).
