Our mission is to raise awareness within our university’s community regarding the urgency of the ongoing climate crisis as well as the vital role environmental sustainability plays in such a crisis. Our campaign is based on the 13th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), Climate Action, which will be implemented through fashion, a medium that we believe will appeal to and attract the attention of our target demographic: our generation (Generation Z).
The clothing line will be created using batik motifs, and all the products created will be produced using biodegradable materials such as recycled materials and natural dye. We will also ensure that the waste management will be done in an environmentally sustainable manner, i.e. recycling materials, limiting anything that would lead to CO2 emissions. Besides, the funding will also be used to collaborate with a local batik business to produce this clothing line.
We will be producing 8 different designs in the Powerpuff Energy clothing line. Each design will be customized to the appeal of our generation (Generation Z). The system that we will be used for customers of the Powerpuff Energy clothing line will be using pre-orders to prevent excessive waste. A sum of the profit generated will be given back to the local batik business that we will be collaborating with, and excessive profit generated will be distributed to local environmentally sustainable businesses in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
