The Plastic Pipes Conference Association (PPCA) was formed to promote, develop and enhance the interests of the plastic pipe industry. It accomplishes this goal by primarily organizing and running the Plastic Pipe Conferences and Exhibitions on behalf of the international plastics pipe industry. The key principal function of the PPCA Board of directors (PPCA BOD) is the promotion through conference of all plastics used in pipe systems.
Every two years, PPCA hosts the only truly global event of its kind to review latest developments, best practices and emerging trends for plastic pipe systems. The choice of venue alternates between a city location in North America and Europe. Conference participants comprise raw material suppliers, ingredient/additive manufacturers, major water, sewer, gas and telecom utilities, plastic pipe manufacturers, specifiers, pipe machine fabricators, testing laboratories, certifying agencies, standards organizations and technical institutes. Although coming from different perspectives, all stakeholders have the same end goal of learning more about the business and technology of plastic pipe systems.
The first PLASTIC PIPES Conference was organized in Southampton in 1970. In October 2002, the PPCA was formed and its involvement has greatly enhanced the international character of the event. Furthermore, the conference exhibition side has expanded successfully to provide an effective promotional platform for manufacturers.
In addition to these main events, the PPCA hosts spin-off conferences in those countries where the plastic pipe industry is on the verge of significant growth. In addition to regional speakers, these spin-off events include presentations from ten authors that have delivered significant work during the previous main PPCA conference.
Global market growth for plastic pipes is expected to expand significantly. Demand for plastic pipes is largely driven by ceaseless innovation, longlife performance and the provision of sustainable solutions. Given the scope and scale of these developments, the PPCA is actively involved in sharing the very latest expertise and experience gained in the modern world of plastic pipe systems.
