Back in 1993, PPIB burst onto the scene with a mission: to fill the void in insurance coverage for industries that were being overlooked. Our journey began with the permanent cosmetic industry, where we pioneered insurance solutions for eyebrow, eyeliner, and lip tattooing. Led by President Susan Preston, we didn't stop there – we established a nonprofit association for permanent cosmetic technicians, setting new industry standards along the way.
As demand grew, so did our program offerings. In 1995, we made waves in the tattoo industry, followed by the Medispa/Laser sector in 2000. Teaming up with industry professionals, including doctors and laser specialists, we gained valuable insights into emerging trends like lasers, Botox, and medical peels. To better serve our clients, we tailored our offerings with specialized forms and protocols.
Fast forward to today, and PPIB continues to lead the charge in insurance innovation. Our program lineup includes: Body Art (Tattoo and Body Piercing), Medi-Spa, Day Spa, Beauty / Independent Contractors, Permanent Cosmetics, Hemp and CBD, Pyrotechnics, Medical Directors & Labs, Smoke Shops and E-Cigs, Allied Health, Products, Translators, Cremation Services, Podcasters, Agritainment, and Wellness Centers. Under the leadership of Susan Etter, who took the helm in 2021, we remain committed to pushing boundaries and adapting to the ever-changing needs of diverse industries.
