About Prairie Pup Project
It started as the “Make A Difference (MAD)” project when I took Graphic Design in Red River College. I had to come up with a concept to work on for a whole term so the instructor suggested to do something we’re really passionate about. I thought of issues on health since I was a dietitian before I became a graphic designer. I also work for an animal shelter as a clerk and witnessed how much stray dogs we have in Manitoba but people still travel to look for pure bred ones. It bugged me that I am an advocate for rescue dogs but I still have friends who would actually pay $$$ and drive across the country to buy the breed they want. I came up with ‘what about something that would raise awareness about rescue dogs?’ I have two awesome rescue dogs and I enjoy exploring Manitoba with them. I decided to do a publication that promotes rescues and shelters within the province that would also showcase how beautiful and kind Manitoba is. The goal is to have an outlet for rescues and shelters, for people seeking to volunteer and donate, and for families who already have adopted a rescue dog to share their success stories. I created a magazine and an app. If you’re curious what my project looked like, you can check it out here: http://arianneyuson.com/appprint.html. If you’re a rescue/shelter looking to promote your events or your organization in general, feel free to contact me so I can help with the design as my way of volunteering. Send me a message here or e-mail me at prairiepupproject@gmail.com. If you’re a pet parent of a rescued dog, I will be happy to feature your success story in my social media to spread awareness. Thanks for visiting this page and hope to hear from you! :) Sincerely, Arianne
