Project Prakash Foundation

The Project Prakash Foundation is dedicated to bringing light into the lives of curably blind children in India while simultaneously advancing understanding of the human brain's development. The organization combines direct medical intervention with cutting-edge scientific research to achieve its dual mission. Founded by the renowned MIT neuroscientist Pawan Sinha in 2005, Project Prakash has allowed numerous children to achieve a brighter future by providing outreach, medical intervention, education, and training to foster their independence and integration into their communities. Through its innovative treatment, the Foundation has also illuminated a greater understanding of sight and the human brain, providing essential knowledge to inform new public health policies and regional medical practices. Funded by a range of global stakeholders, and fuelled by the twin spirits of altruism and inquiry, Project Prakash aims to illuminate lives and science alike.
