This event is more than just an art competition. It is a celebration of our collective love and appreciation for your Adelaide Park Lands, and a reminder of the vital role they play in our lives and our community.
The Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize is the cornerstone of the Adelaide Park Lands Association's "INSPIRE" activities.
Inspiration flows in two directions:
- The artists featured in this exhibition have found inspiration in
Adelaide's Park Lands, crafting their works in homage to these natural treasures.
- In turn, we hope their artistic interpretations of your Park Lands will spark inspiration in you, forging a deeper connection with the beautiful landscapes that define Adelaide.
The fifth iteration of the biennial Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize was held in March 2023. The Prize pool of $50,000 was split between the winner ($20,000) and 15 category winners ($2,000 each).
- A record number of 480+ entries were submitted
- Judges selected 80 artworks that were exhibited as finalists.
The exhibition at the Adelaide Festival Centre provided diverse and awe-inspiring aspects through the eyes of the artists.
The community had an opportunity to engage with the artists' passions and uncover how your Park Lands inspired them. Using a range of mediums, the artists reveal the vital role of nature in sustaining life and its delicate fragility. Each artwork showcases a unique perspective of your Adelaide Park Lands, from wildlife to the beauty, shelter, fun and sites for contemplation.
Entries to the next Art Prize will open in August 2024.
