About Pranksy
Pranksy soared onto the NFT scene in 2017. Starting with a small investment, he began trading and collecting, quickly becoming embedded in the community. Present for all of the key NFT events, he was described by Sotheby’s as part of a core group with ‘deep histories and relationships in the digital art and media space, many of whom have been collecting long before NFTs became a common term and have helped build the ecosystem from the ground up’. Inspired by the intersection between art and emerging technology, Pranksy recognised the potential of NFTs to change the way art is bought, sold and experienced. He has since been involved in several of the most influential NFT projects. As Pranksy’s tendrils of influence snaked through the community, he and his co-conspirator, Magpie, went on to found NFTboxes Ltd, one of the first subscription products on the blockchain and Pranksy Ltd, a Consultancy/Promotion Company. Complete with the iconic pigeon logo, they have developed a distinct brand identity that is synonymous with the colour red. They continue to actively promote and support numerous new artists in the space. Pranksy and Magpie have, arguably, the most varied NFT art collection worldwide, which spans from the emergence of NFTs to the present day. The collection contains pieces with both physical and digital aspects, including Dolce & Gabbana’s Dress from a Dream, five pieces from Hirst’s The Currency and a Mercedes Formula 1 Race Car designed by Mad Dog Jones and signed by Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. Pranksy and Magpie have played a significant role in making NFTs available to a broader audience. Both are determined to drive the web3 space forward into an age of legitimacy by seeking the creative, inspiring and meaningful within web3 and shining a light on dreamers who ‘do’.
