As a design project students were supposed to understand packaging and its purpose. This was done by discussing over different product and their packaging in detail. Once the understanding was developed by discussing packaging in and around the vicinity students were given different activities where they had to find understand and appreciate at least one good thing about that particular pack. Then finding problems in the packaging not as a designer but as a user. At the same time they had to think of a problem area which could be solved by introducing packaging. This helped them in understanding the role of packaging design in a much better fashion.Once each student finalised their selection of product the activity of redesigning began. At each consecutive step they discarded their own design solutions by discussing them in class. By the end of the module each student was ready with innovative ideas with rationale. They finally put up an exhibition where they displayed their process of how and why they thought about that particular problem area and what were the intermediate stages and took the valuable critique from faculty and students and considered it.
