Pratikrut Collective is a heritage-inspired art collective rooted in the celebration of India’s timeless folk art traditions. Derived from the ancient Prakrit language, the name “Pratikrut” symbolizes creativity and cultural homage, capturing the essence of India's rich artistic legacy. Founded in 2020 by artist and entrepreneur Pratiti Desai, Pratikrut began with just two artists and has grown into a vibrant community of over 100 Indian heritage artisans. At the heart of Pratikrut is a vision to seamlessly blend traditional Indian craftsmanship with contemporary storytelling, sustainability, and innovation. We work with natural dye colors, hand-painted motifs, and indigenous materials such as fabric, handmade paper, cow-dung paper etc. to curate unique collections. Each piece echoes tales of royalty, rural life, and the simplicity and beauty of India's diverse traditions.
