Prem Samriddhi Foundation

“Our mission is to organically conserve 1000 varieties of indigenous seeds, by engaging 100,000 marginalized women farmers in indigenous seed cultivation.” We work on conservation and promotion of indigenous millets and seeds with small and marginalized women farmers. We provide holistic support services encompassing on-farm conservation and cultivation, capacity building, popularization of indigenous varieties, market linkages, participatory research and development. Through promotion and conservation of these indigenous varieties the organization is increasing farm productivity and reducing the cost of cultivation. We are helping marginalized farmers to improve the soil quality, creating indigenous multi crop systems to reduce single crop dependency. We are creating awareness among consumers about health benefits of consuming indigenous seeds and millets to tackle the issue of nutrition deficiency. Prem Samriddhi is headquartered in Bundi, Rajasthan and currently works in two Indian states Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. It is currently supporting an all- women farmer producer organization, Samriddhi Mahila Crop Producer Company Limited (SMPCL), with more than 2,300 small and marginalized women farmers as shareholders. The foundation provides support services to the Producer company encompassing capacity building on soil health conservation and cultivation, popularization of indigenous seed varieties, move to regenerative farming methods, organizational development and market linkages. PSF also provides consultancy services to set up or strengthen agriculture programs to other individuals, corporates and NGOs. Till date, PSF has helped enhance the income of more 350 women farmers and conserve over 250 unique varieties of rice, wheat, maize, millet, pulses, and vegetables, all of which are indigenous and vital for biodiversity preservation. .Due to PSF’s efforts, the turnover of SMCPCL has increased from INR 0.35 Cr (2021-22) to INR 1.71 Cr in current FY(Aug23).
