On December 4, 2014, Pretty Fingers was founded by ToniAnn Fedele and on January 2, 2018, through October 1, 2023, Pretty Fingers was officially established as an Illinois Not-for-Profit organization. Its mission was to restore self-confidence, self-care, and self-love to women survivors of domestic violence through the colors of nail polish.
ToniAnn knew, first-hand, how wonderful a fresh manicure and a new nail polish color made her feel and she wanted to share that feeling with as many women survivors of domestic violence, living in Chicago, as possible.
Pretty Fingers strived to heal broken dreams, and all donations were distributed in individual hand-packed gift bags to multiple organizations in Chicago who supported these courageous women. Each gift bag was put together with l♡ve and consisted of at least 5-8 different colored nail polishes and 2-4 nail supplies. ToniAnn made certain that each gift bag had a multitude of colors for each woman to choose from.
Pretty Fingers successfully ran 9 campaigns from December to March during the 2014 - 2023 calendar years, and each year a new goal was set and oftentimes exceeded.
Throughout Pretty Fingers lifespan, 12,000+ bottles of NEW Nail Polish with over 4,000+ NEW Nail Supplies were donated to women survivors of domestic violence.
The last Campaign, like all the others before it, was a true success and the generosity of every single person who donated was heartfelt. It was an amazing accomplishment to give back to a community that tends to be ignored.
Pretty Fingers was created with a purpose in mind, and that purpose was to give a gift to a woman survivor of domestic violence that was reflective of self-confidence, self-care, self-love and hope for a brighter day, and Pretty Fingers did just that, THOUSANDS of times, over a span of almost 9 years.
