PREVENT PCP

PREVENT PCP is a three-year project funded by the European Commission under Horizon 2020. It builds on the outcomes of its predecessor PREVENT CSA, and continues the work on improving safety in public transport. The project gathers 24 partners from 8 EU countries who will work together to augment the security in public transport through innovative procurement of technology solutions. The developed solutions will enhance security situational awareness through: 1. Timely automatic detection of potentially dangerous unattended items in Public Transport Infrastructure and in public areas in the vicinity; 2. Identification and tracking of perpetrators; and 3. Advanced crisis management system. The developed prototypes will be tested in 4 pilots in France, Spain, Portugal and Greece. The project is coordinated by Engineering Ingegneria Informatica S.p.A. from Italy.
