Pride and Less Prejudice (PLP) works to promote positive LGBTQ+ representation by providing age-appropriate LGBTQ+ books to Pre-K through 3rd-grade classrooms. We believe that such representation not only normalizes LGBTQ+ identities in classrooms, but it also fosters the support of LGBTQ+ and questioning youth themselves, making them feel more at home in educational spaces. Additionally, this representation benefits other children by introducing them to perspectives different from their own. This will result in more empathetic classrooms and compassionate communities for all.
