About Partners of Refugees in Illinois Disability Employment (PRIDE)
Partners of Refugees in Illinois Disability Employment (PRIDE) is a three-year initiative funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research. The main objective of PRIDE is to create pathways to employment for job-seeking refugees with disabilities in Illinois. To achieve this objective, the PRIDE team has developed various products including: • a website and an online library of resources • a comprehensive vocational assessment tool kit • training curricula for refugees with disabilities and refugee service providers • an information technology tool that will help track and monitor progress of PRIDE participants as they navigate their employment pathways PRIDE’s work is supported by numerous community partners such as the Division of Rehabilitation Services, refugee-serving community-based organizations, employers (such as immigrant-owned small businesses), chambers of commerce and disability-focused organizations.
