Primacea is the first organization dedicated to serving the best interests of physicians who innovate with industry to advance medicine. In today’s regulatory environment, these physicians are running high-risk businesses in addition to their busy practices. They work with industry without the support of their employers or any other organization. Operating like sole proprietors, they handle everything from contract negotiations to billing, collections, compliance reporting and even travel. Lacking adequate infrastructure, they are often ill-equipped to negotiate fair and properly structured transactions with their much larger industry counterparts. Worse, mistakes can lead to serious consequences including congressional investigations, bad press, ethics probes, dismissal from their positions, loss of Medicare billing privileges, criminal fines and other penalties. As a result, some physicians operate, often unknowingly, at their own peril. Many others have reduced or abandoned industry collaboration, which poses great risks to the future of patient care. Primacea was conceived by a physician who sought a comprehensive solution to the needs of innovative physicians. Primacea advocates for physicians; manages their compliance requirements with government, medical institutions and medical societies; and provides complete back-office support services.
