Primula is a cheese with a difference.
Part of the Kavli Group, Primula has been a leading family brand for more than 95 years. Most famous for its squeezy cheese tubes, Primula Cheese was the world’s first long-life spreadable cheese. First created by Olav Kavli in 1924, Primula made its way to the UK in 1929 and has been squeezing its way into the nation’s fridges and hearts ever since.
More than 3,000 tonnes of Primula’s delicious spreadable cheese are now made every year at its factory in Gateshead, before being distributed to most major supermarkets nationwide. With nine flavours on offer, as well as Primula Dippers and Primula Dips, there’s something for everyone.
Every time someone buys Primula Cheese, they are helping to support charities and good causes across the world. It is part of the Kavli Group, which is owned by the charitable organisation, Kavli Trust. Part of the profits from the Kavli Group are reinvested into strengthening and developing the group’s operations, while the remainder is donated via the Kavli Trust to good causes in research, culture and humanitarian work both in the UK and overseas, including to those nominated by Primula colleagues.
