Prithvi IIT Kharagpur

Prithvi is an initiative led by the IIT Kharagpur student chapters of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), and the Society of Petroleum Geophysicists (SPG), along with students from the Department of Geology and Geophysics. AAPG, a prominent pillar in the global scientific community, has been a crucial contributor to Prithvi for the past twelve years. SEG, associated with Prithvi since its inception in 2009, brings its own exceptional standards of excellence in exploration geophysics and innovation to the table. SPG seeks to improve the exchange of technical ideas and practical experience. Prithvi aims to harness these concepts through an annual symposium among these societies, inviting experts to create a synergy in geology and geophysical science and technology. Our primary goal is to promote the dissemination of knowledge in Earth Science and Technology through various events, workshops, and lectures. Our motto, "Scire Terrae," encapsulates our central ideology.
