One of the brand's notable features is its association with Eddie Van Halen, the Rock 'n' Roll guitar legend, who famously wore PRO WINGS sneakers from late 1979 through at least 1984.

Following the discontinuation of PRO WINGS shoe production in the late 90s, an Italian corporation based in Riviera del Brenta (between Venice and Padua) now owns the brand rights and has chosen to revive it.
