Probability Podcast

Probability Podcast company information, Employees & Contact Information

The Probability podcast examines the intersection of what is likely to occur versus simply what is possible with emerging and converging technologies. We have been working in tech for decades and have seen the emergence and convergence of all modern technologies come to fruition. From the early computers through the emergence of video games, smart phones, internet, social media, and now AI. This allows us to provide a broad perspective on emerging technologies coloured by the historical context of how significant advancements in technology impacted society over the last half century. Where did we come up with the name? Probability explores the likelihood of something happening or being the case. For example, when rolling the dice or playing poker there are many probable outcomes. What roles do we play in this podcast? We modelled our roles loosely around the concept in game theory of the “Generator” and “Discriminator”. The idea is to build consensus on a question or topic based on 2 different “players” that have their own sets of information, beliefs, and experiences. Together we will work towards determining what we believe are probable outcomes of emerging technologies (without diverging too far from our original convictions). Each episode the generator will pose a question to the discriminator and work towards that consensus. What topics will we cover? We will examine the the latest emerging and converging technologies, value propositions, problems being solved, along with risks and challenges posed for acceptance. Our subjects will include: AI / Neural Networks Augmented Reality Robotics Web3 / Blockchain Quantum Computing Tidal and Wave Energy Autonomous Vehicles Internet of things and more! Anything seems to be possible these days, but what is probable? Tune in each week to hear our perspectives and pontifications as the “Generator” and the “Discriminator” go head to head!!
