PRODORITE

Prodorite commenced business in 1950 as Robertson Stone Ltd and was the leading company supplying natural and reconstructed stone finishes for the exterior and interior faces of buildings. As new building development began to slow down in 1961 the company changed its name to Prodorite having close connection with Prodorite Ltd of Wednesbury U.K.. Prodorite then entered the field of various types of plastics. At this time Prodorite became a subsidiary of the Murray and Roberts’s group and the product range included rigid PVC pipe manufacture, manufacture of Fibreglass products, anti corrosive resistant plastics for mining and industrial applications and the Blaco range of epoxy adhesives, concrete additives and bituminous products. Prodorite has been a major player in the plastics field up until today. In addition we have an outside contracting department which specialises in industrial and chemical resistant tiling and flooring, tank lining, pipe installation and other specialised activities. Prodorite has been involved in the manufacture of Fibreglass sanitaryware since the late 1960s and have manufactured Fibreglass w.c. pans, cisterns and urinals to approved Harare Municipal standards during this time. Many thousands of these units were supplied into the local market over the ensuing years. We are currently the major manufacturers and suppliers of Chromadek faced insulated cold panels in the country and these panels have also been successfully used in the manufacture of Econet and other base station booths. In early 2011 Prodorite acquired a controlling interest in Plastique Industries the leading Zimbabwean manufacturer of biscuits skillets, horticultural punnets and other associated products. This purchase is in line with our strategy to grow the group by introducing synergetic companies and products.
