The Nature Of Prof's Business
PROF is a specialist multi-discipline engineering company (weighted mechanical) which investigates the requirement for, develops designs and produces complete pieces of engineering equipment to do very specific and mostly very specialized functions. These machines are supplied to varied customers both locally in South Africa and also internationally. The company currently has equipment in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Namibia, Mozambique, Botswana, Kenya, Seychelles, Poland, Ireland, Australia and Tasmania.
By their very nature, the design, development and manufacture of Prof products require close and continuous contact with the customer. This is done from the earliest identification of a requirement for a piece of equipment to perform a function, on through the initial proposal or concept design stage to the technical feasibility investigations. Only then is a firm quotation for the product prepared and submitted to the customer for consideration. Should a contract be awarded, final detail designs and specifications are produced and the product is then manufactured.
PROF does not employ sales or marketing staff as it markets engineering expertise and application of experience. It does not sell or market existing products from catalogues. Each product is an individual unique piece of equipment, developed, designed and manufactured in-house utilizing sound engineering principles, 3D computer aided design software (Autodesk Inventor) and the considerable experience of its engineering staff.
The equipment manufactured is backed up by after sales monitoring, service, improvement and evaluation.
