Programming Historian company information, Employees & Contact Information

ProgHist Ltd is a Diamond Open Access publisher of article-length lessons on digital techniques and workflows. Our lessons support students and academics to learn effective research methods. They also help educators to teach tomorrow’s researchers. Programming Historian lessons are created by a global community of authors, editors, peer-reviewers and translators. They’ve collaborated to create more than 200 lessons across our four journals: in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. Since our online launch in 2012, our website has had over 10.8 million page views. That is 6.1 million unique users from countries across every continent. Our lessons reach over one million readers each year, a third of them in the Global South. Every lesson we publish has been openly peer-reviewed. We are committed to this process because we believe it is a collaborative, productive, and sustainable way for researchers to learn from each other. We encourage the use of open source programming languages and software to ensure learners can access skills and tools that can be used in different contexts, while avoiding lock-in costs. Our journals are published freely online without a paywall. Our articles are licensed under the Creative Commons - Attribution 4.0 International CC-BY 4.0 Licence. This is to allow the broadest possible participation among authors, readers, educators, and researchers. Our lessons are written by and for today’s scholars and educators. That is, people whose own research in the fields of history, social sciences, or the humanities has prompted them to take up digital tools to acquire, transform, analyse or present their data. We're funded by a growing network of Institutional Partners across Canada, Europe, North America and Latin America who have invested in our success. Institutional Partnerships help sustain our open-access publishing model, and empower us to continue creating peer-reviewed, multilingual tutorials for digital humanists around the globe.
