About ProGel
ProGel, a spinout company of The University of Queensland, was founded in 2009. ProGel’s primary mission was to commercialise the groundbreaking encapsulation technology developed by Professor Bhesh Bhandari, a globally recognised expert in drying technology, dairy research and 3D printing along with his associates Dr Su Hung Ching and Dr Lai Tran. Compared to established methods, ProGel’s technology offers unmatched simplicity, scalability and ease of use across numerous applications. Today ProGel, a subsidiary of PERKii, maintains a close relationship with the University of Queensland, utilising top-tier research facilities, including microbiology, sensory, and formulation laboratories. The team, led by CEO Raymond Girgenti, continues to pursue new commercialisation opportunities with the technology, with Lead Technical Manager Dr. Su Hung Ching continuing to innovate the micro-shielding technology.
