PMIU is another wing of School Education Department, Punjab. The unit steers large-scale reform interventions of School Education Department. It also implements and monitors programmes implemented as part of collaborations with international development partners. PMIU engages local and international counterparts to plan, design and monitor reformative initiatives to improve the overall education outcomes in Punjab such as enrollment, capacity building of teachers, students assessments, improved access, learning and governance of public education infrastructure. The unit is also leading the rapid progression of School Education Department towards inclusive education, enabling education technology and digitization to enhance efficiencies and complement the agenda of providing avenues of education for every child across Punjab.
PMIU is currently managing interventions supported by World Bank, FCDO, GPE and is also expanding its turf of engaging private sector to augment the portfolio of education service delivery in the province.
