Punjab Social Protection Authority as an autonomous body, has been striving to achieve its mandate to pr ovide an effective, comprehensive and efficient social protection system to the poorest of the poor in Punjab. In its journey, from beginning it has taken many initiatives that target the poor and vulnerable community of Punjab province to provide them with financial or in-kind unconditional and conditional assistance. Punjab Social protection Authority has not only been mandated to consolidate and coordinate all social protection initiatives in the province but also act as a lead in developing and implementing Punjab's first social protection policy, ensure equitable allocation and efficient utilization of resources for social protection, devising effective and efficient mechanisms, to identify vulnerable groups and proposing novel interventions for the marginalized and poor, and monitoring & evaluation of social protection programs. PSPA strives to reach out to those in need 'leaving no one behind', to ensure this innovative approaches has been adopted right from program design till its execution. Resultantly, delivery mechanisms for extending social protection services have evolved over time improving the targeting of potential beneficiaries and benefit disbursements. Punjab Social Protection Authority has been entrusted with the responsibility to roll out multiple interventions for social protection of the vulnerable groups in Punjab. It also aims to expand human development and social protection in Punjab drastically so that poverty eradication, economic empowerment of women, and better health and education outcomes could be achieved.
