About Prohuman Technologies
Current tech enabled recovery devices often require skilled staff, or an in-person visit to a clinical setting, and while useful, are often inaccessible to the public due to excessive cost or geographic limitations. Prohuman Technologies is addressing this unmet need by developing a wearable therapy device that can be used at home, work, or while mobile. We envision contributing towards a paradigm shift from curative and reactive medicine to more preventive, proactive, and personalized medicine. The device combines cryo-, thermo-, and compression therapy into an easy-to-use device that you customize to the pain you experience each day. Initially customer facing for market launch, Prohuman will eventually seek FDA clearance as a Class II electromedical device which applies targeted temperature therapy (heating up to 120 °F and cooling down to 45 °F) with self-selected timing cycles and combines it with passive and active compression at the point of care. The multi-modal function and high customization provide therapeutic pain relief when and where customers need it. The novel device is designed for long-term durable use and serves as a mobile solution without side effects. An estimated 107,000,000 Americans have chronic pain and 8.0% of U.S. adults have high-impact chronic pain. Furthermore, chronic pain contributes to an estimated $560B-$635B each year in direct medical costs, lost productivity, and disability programs. Commercially available solutions simply cannot satisfy customer’s needs: options like opioid painkillers have significant long-term risks like gastrointestinal bleeding and opioid use disorder, while pain management devices often require skilled staff, or an in-person visit to a clinical setting. To address this, Prohuman Technologies is developing a breakthrough wearable pain management therapeutic sleeve that can provide pain relief and optimal recovery without pharmaceutical intervention.
