About Project ANAR
We envision a world in which Afghans, and all people, can move freely, without the barriers imposed on them by the systems that displaced them to begin with. We envision an Afghan community in the U.S. that is empowered to engage in individual and collective immigration advocacy. Our goals include obtaining permanent status and family reunification for Afghans in the United States, and establishing pathways to refuge for those outside of the U.S. Our work includes direct legal services, particularly asylum services, for Afghans in the Bay Area, California. We work in coalition with Afghan community organizations, immigration and resettlement organizations, law schools, and others, to meet our community’s needs and advocate for them on local, state, and national levels.
