DRIVES Project

The European Commission estimates that by 2025 it will be necessary to fill more than 900,000 jobs in the automotive sector, about half of which will require high-level qualifications. Aiming to tackle this market need, the DRIVES project will implement the Blueprint objectives for the automotive sector, namely the delivery of human capital solutions to supply chain SMEs, through the establishment of an Automotive Sector Skills Alliance, covering all levels of the value chain (vehicle production, automotive suppliers and automotive sales and aftermarket services). The project runs from 2018 to 2021 with a budget of 4 million euros. The consortium is lead by Technical University Ostrava (TUO) and involves 24 European partners, including public entities, European sectorial associations, VET schools and Universities, from 11 EU partner countries. To achieve the objectives the project will: 1. Assessing and modernize the national Skills Frameworks, according with future automotive trends. 2. Enabling mutual recognition of awards and certificates between formal and informal automotive education, VET and universities 3. Implementation of a common European automotive skills umbrella and integration of existing skills frameworks (Sector skills council, ECQA, AQUA, SkillMan, Skills Passport, etc.) including pilot trainings. 4.
