Project Gold Group

After witnessing several disabled triathletes finishing an olympic-distance triathlon without any supporting equipment - some even had to run de 10k with crutches - a Sixth Former at St Paul's School, decided to take the initiative and give the very much needed support to the para-athletes. A group of 8, all of whom were deeply moved by the cause, was formed, marking the start of Project Gold. Since then, the group has worked tirelessly to raise funds and awareness to ensure that we could provide the equipment to as many struggling para-athletes as possible. We've knocked on many doors, and have received support both from individuals and from large multinationals. However, despite the endless hours that have been put into the project, our work is just beginning. We believe that we can make a difference, as sport is such a powerful form of social inclusion. Nonetheless, today millions of disabled people in Brazil are ostracized due to the lack of support they receive - both from the government and from the people. Not only is this unfortunate but it is unfair, which is why we are asking for support to change the lives of so many individuals.
