About Project HeatSafe
Project HeatSafe is a collaborative research project based in the National University of Singapore. The research team includes physiologists, economists, geographers, epidemiologists, and scientists from a range of disciplines who are united in their commitment to mitigate the impacts of rising temperatures in Southeast Asia due to climate change. 2020 was officially the hottest year on record — never in history has the human race faced such an urgent threat due to heat exposure. Project HeatSafe aims to understand how our warming climate affects our health and work productivity, especially in exertional populations, as well as identify sustainable preventive policies and actions that can reduce these impacts. This research is supported by the National Research Foundation, Prime Minister’s Office, Singapore under its Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE) programme.
