Project MAMA - Maternity Action for Migrants and Asylum Seekers
Project MAMA exists so that no parent has to go it alone. We offer migrated mamas holistic, individual-focused support during pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood. The majority of women we support are seeking asylum, have refugee status, or are survivors of human trafficking. Through our projects, we seek to offer mamas nurture and continuity of care so that they can feel well-supported on their journey to parenthood.
Project MAMA was founded in 2018 by Fiona Mann, an experienced support worker at Unseen UK. Today, we are a hive of midwives, activists, and birth workers who form a solidarity network for Mamas and babes from migrant backgrounds.
