Project: NextGrid

NextGrid is a research and development project aimed at enhancing the abilities of Norwegian DSOs to manage the complex and automated power grid of the future. The project is part of the "Green Platform" (Grønn Plattform) initiative and is a collaboration among seventeen companies and organizations. The primary objective of the project is to electrify and decarbonize society through more effective utilization of the Norwegian distribution network. Currently, operations rely mainly on manual control and significant safety margins. Automation reduces the need for large safety margins and aids the transition into a new era of renewable energy production characterized by higher variability.
