Project Oasis

Project Oasis is a research effort to map independent digital media organizations, news creators and publishers-in-exile across 68 countries. Led by SembraMedia, a nonprofit organization on a mission to empower journalists and social entrepreneurs to build more sustainable media organizations, and supported by Google News Initiative, launched to bring together efforts to help build a stronger future for news. In partnership with the Ajor (Digital Journalism Association), a Brazilian non-profit organization that represents more than 150 media outlets, and LION Publishers, a nonprofit professional association on a mission to strengthen the local news industry in the U.S. and Canada.
