We tell the stories of social entrepreneurs.
Project Ripping is a non-profit project initiated to tell the stories of social entrepreneurs in China. The project received CNY 200,000 grant from Narada Foundation（南都公益基金会）, attracted over 100 volunteers, and won national exposure.
Through crowd-sourced efforts (translation, funding, and marketing), we published through CITIC Press （中信出版社） the Chinese version of "Ripping: How Social Entrepreneurs Spread Innovations Around the World,"（《涟漪效应：以商业思维做社会公益的18个世界经典案例》）the first book in the Chinese language with case studies of successful social enterprises around the world.
Starting in 2014, I led the project along with two amazing and like-minded women who I had never met in person until much later. As a grass-roots project with no governmental endorsement, we challenged the norm and legal threshold of what a civil, non-profit, and non-corporation entity can do in China. We also set an example of impact publishing in a state monopoly over press and publication.
