About Arizona Center for Rural Leadership

Arizona Center for Rural Leadership has been shaping our state since 1983 through three dynamic programs. The flagship program, Project CENTRL, is a twelve-month, experiential-learning leadership development program. Second is our Alumni in Action, our network of over 650 alumni, working at the grassroots, local, county, state and national level to improve the quality of life in rural Arizona. Finally, through our Make a Difference program we identify needs, gather teams and influence change including the incorporation of the town of Maricopa, finding the current home for Pima County Cooperative Extension and building a Veterans memorial in Miami; all projects that happened through Make a Difference projects. By training leaders, inspiring action, and getting things done, rural Arizona is becoming vibrant, healthy and sustainable.
