project PARALIES

project PARALIES, launched in summer 2021, is an initiative aiming at the protection of the coastal and marine ecosystem of beaches against waste pollution. It focuses on mobilizing private companies with an increased environmental and social sensitivity to take part in the project by adopting a beach for the entire summer period. The actions that are taking place include daily cleaning of marine litter from the beaches, qualitative and quantitative analysis of the collected litter, collection at source of the bather’s recyclable waste, sharing of special beach ashtrays, awareness raising of the bathers. The actions at the adopted beaches are initiated on the 5th of June (United Nations’ World Environment Day) and they are completed on the 17th of September (World Cleanup Day).
