About PICKED Project - Personalized Medicine in Chronic Kidney Disease
PICKED (Personalized Medicine in Chronic Kidney Disease) is a cutting-edge research project aimed at transforming the diagnosis, treatment, and management of chronic kidney disease (CKD) through personalized medicine. CKD affects over 850 million people globally, with significant socioeconomic impacts. The PICKED project addresses these challenges by equipping a new generation of researchers with the skills and tools needed to revolutionize CKD care. Funded by the European Commission’s Horizon-MSCA-Doctoral Networks, PICKED unites 10 beneficiaries and 10 associated partners from across 7 European countries, spanning both academia and industry. This interdisciplinary consortium focuses on developing innovative approaches to detect, monitor, and treat CKD at a personalized level, using advanced biomarker research, proteomics, bioinformatics, and cutting-edge medical technology. Our mission is to develop new pathways for implementing personalized medicine, ensuring CKD patients receive targeted, effective treatments based on their unique health profiles. By doing so, we aim to significantly improve the quality of life for individuals with CKD, ultimately reducing the disease’s progression and complications.
