Projects With Care collaborates with social service and housing agencies across New York City to deliver personalized, need-based initiatives for children and families facing hardship. Born from the long-running Stockings With Care program, founded in 1992 by Rosalie Joseph and Tom Fontana, we’ve served over 70,000 children through holiday gift drives. Today, our flagship programs include:
Project First Day: Equipping thousands of NYC shelter children annually with new outfits, shoes, backpacks, and school supplies to help them start the year confidently
Stockings With Care: Delivering holiday joy and three heartfelt gifts per child, ensuring parents can take the spotlight while preserving family dignity.
Project Welcome Home: Our newest initiative, launched in 2024, supports 100+ survivor-led families each year transitioning from domestic violence shelters by providing essential home items and emotional care.
