Promote Care & Prevent Harm

At Promote Care & Prevent Harm, we empower leaders to create a more proactive culture by promoting safety, wellness, and connections while also preventing COVID-19, psychological harm, and loneliness in schools and organizations. After the Virginia Tech shooting, a group of students started to build a prevention movement and school-based programs to prevent aggression, bullying, and violence. Now, our 501(c)3 nonprofit has developed a science-based movement around COVID-19 public health information, leadership programs for youth and school-based professionals, and a COVID-19 Safety Corps. We also offer consultation for nonprofit organizations, webinars for change agents, and conduct research on promotive/preventive thinking and programs. We also believe equitable promotion and prevention can redress inequities within schools and communities. We believe public safety requires a rapid reinvestment in proactive solutions, starting with promotion and prevention strategies. We also believe youth and the community can create change when provided with the opportunity and foundational promotion/prevention science concepts to develop their own research-informed solutions. Currently, PCPH offers no-cost mindset training for organizations advancing health equity in communities.
