Propel Philanthropy is a network of 50-plus organizations that provide infrastructure within philanthropy and other sectors. We convene, inform, and inspire funders to focus on highly effective and efficient mechanisms to hasten positive social change. We make known that a small increase in infrastructure funding can significantly fast-track social impact. Investments that unlock charitable capital, strengthen philanthropic support organizations and build the infrastructure that fosters collaboration driving exceptional social impact returns. These disproportionate returns can be realized at scale by investing in Social Impact Infrastructure Organizations (SIIOs).
Propel Philanthropy has coined the term SIIO to refer to organizations providing social impact-related infrastructure within “for good” sectors. Examples within our network or otherwise include GivingTuesday, VolunteerMatch, GoFundMe, Council of Nonprofits, National Council on Foundations, TechSoup, and Alliance Magazine.
