The Department is one of the most important study centers in Colombia and Latin America, contributing to the formation of outstanding groups of professionals and has made an academic production with recognized merit of intellectual excellence. The study center has specialized publications such as the journal "La Propiedad Inmaterial" registered in important national and international databases, with accredited research groups, annual IP forums, monthly cycles of talks, national and international events, and has even intervened in the processes of public policy formulation with the different institutions that govern the subject in the country, among others.
