Prospector Partners is an SEC registered Investment Advisor located in Guilford, CT. Our firm was founded by John Gillespie in 1997 with the mission of delivering differentiated, consistent, and reliable performance to our invested clients. Over 25 years, Prospector has grown into a uniquely focused, institutionally built investment firm with a specialized approach to long/short equity investing and we manage hedge funds, separate accounts and mutual funds. We’ve built a strong, longstanding team with common value-based principles, developed core, mutually beneficial relationships with our respected clients, and expanded on our first offerings while remaining dedicated to our time-tested, proven process. A Firm of 14, our team members have an average tenure of 14 years at Prospector. We’re proud to be the place our team calls home, and strive to maintain an environment and culture based on integrity, collaboration, trust and, of course, a little fun. We have 11 CPAs and CFAs and value continued education in our space in both investments and operations.
