Protect Ethical Prosecutors (PEP) is a nonpartisan nonprofit working to restore integrity and public trust in our prosecution system.
Prosecutors hold tremendous discretion — decisions that can alter lives, shape communities, and influence justice outcomes. But when misconduct occurs, current systems too often prioritize institutional protection over accountability.
We exist to change that. At PEP, we focus on:
• Reforming harmful legal doctrines like absolute immunity that shield misconduct
• Uplifting ethical prosecutors who are advancing fairness and transparency from within the system
• Educating the public on how prosecutors shape the justice system — and why accountability matters
We believe ethical prosecution is not an aspiration — it’s a baseline. Through policy advocacy, legal education, and coalition-building, we’re working to ensure our systems support prosecutors who act with courage and integrity — and create consequences for those who abuse the power of their office.
