Our group is developing biochemical approaches and solid-state NMR techniques to study the structure and dynamics of proteins and to apply these approaches to broader biological systems. We are particularly interested in understanding at the molecular level, not just the single conformation of a protein, but the different conformations it adopts as a function of the interactions and situations in which the protein is involved. To do this, we prepare NMR samples using different conditions or interaction partners that mimic the different functional states of the protein as realistically as possible. Our study systems are very varied and include viral proteins (hepatitis B, hepatitis D, dengue, SARS-CoV and CCHFV).
